What kind of photo formats do you accept?
We currently accept digital pictures on Cd-Roms. We also accept slides, negatives and printed pictures up to 8 ½” x 11”. If you have other media please call us.
Can I include MPEGS or other video?
Yes, Digital Media Productions accepts .mpeg and .avi video files for use in your wedding video montage production. Please have your video output to a .mpeg or .avi file format and burnt to a CD.
How do I select great pictures for my projects?
Use candid pictures that show character. Close-ups as well as group photos should be included. Choose photos that are horizontal. Vertical photos tend to show alot of black space on the sides of the image. Reason being is your television and computer monitor use a 4:3 aspect ratio, wider than higher. If you do have a widescreen television we can format your wedding DVD slideshow to a 16:9 aspect ratio.
Transitions are the way one picture moves into the next picture. The music for your slideshow usually determines the transitions: slow fades, in or out, or lively interactions.
[Back to Top]How many photos do I need to make up a 5, 10, or 15 minute wedding slideshow?
40-60 photos produce approximately an 4-6 minute slideshow production. 60-80 photos produce approximately an 6-8 minute production. Adding more photos along with including video can produce slideshows from 10 to 15 minutes in length or longer.

Each wedding photo will appear for between 4-6 seconds. This all varies on the music used, the transitions between photos, and the nature of the photos used.
[Back to Top]Can I create my own DVD Slideshows at home?
Yes. Many people are interested in the art of home based videography and digital imaging. Most new computers today come with tools that are capable of creating a digital video slideshows of some type. However to produce the quality of production that you will receive from us, you would need to invest alot of time and expense that you may not wish to undertake.
[Back to Top]I'm worried about sending my photos, how do I know you will return my photos in the same condition as you received them?
We can understand your concerns and why you would be worried, because we know how important your photos are. It's because we know how irreplaceable photos and the memories they evoke are that we treat your photos as if they are our own. We guarantee your photos will be returned to you in the same condition as we received them, unless something catastrophic happens that is out of our control.
To put you further at ease, we employ all manner of precautions in our studios to protect your photos (including no liquids or food allowed in the work room). Due to the shipping process being totally outside our control, we do need to ask you to sign a waiver on our order form that absolves us of any responsibility for your materials during the shipping process.
Will you return my photographs and music?
Yes, your original source material (music & photos) will be returned to you with your order.
Is it safe to send you my photos and videos?
Yes! We will return your materials, packed safely using every precaution. We treat everything you send us as if it were our own!
How should I arrange my photos?
Please number your photos on the back with a sticky note. Never use a ballpoint pen directly on the photo as this may damage them. We will prepare your project in the exact order that you send the photos to us.
You can choose your own music for the wedding montage. To use copyrighted music for inclusion, you must own the original recording. Use of the track will be covered under your fair use rights of ownership.
Can I add a voiceover - messages to the slideshow production?
Yes. You may use it instead of a song or in addition to. Please include instructions along with your order. Please provide the recording to us in a CD, .MP3 or .WAV format only. Please contact us for addititional information.
We will do some minor photo retouching of digital images. This includes cropping, color correction, red-eye reduction and enhancing brightness when needed.
What if I scan the photos myself?
Many people choose to scan the pictures themselves for two reasons: cost and safety. Some clients choose not to send their photos and feel more secure shipping a CD copy of them. Please be sure to scan them on a high quality scanner, and remember to scan them at a high resolution, up to 300 pixels/inch is great. Many large stores (Wal-Mart) currently offer scanning services. Photos must be saved as a .jpeg/.jpg file and give them an identifying name or number.
How much does it cost for a DVD?
Our prices vary depending on the options you choose. The prices include, red-eye reduction, authoring to a DVD and customized labeling.

Package your photos well using cardboard, bubble wrap, etc. in a new box. Use a plastic bag to place your photos in to protect them from spillage during shipment.
Will my new DVD play in my home DVD player or computer DVD-Rom drive?
On average 98% of all players will play back our DVDs. Please go to the following site for compatibility listings: Video Help. Consult your DVD manual for compatibility. If your DVD does not play we will do everything we can to give you a solution that will work.
When will I receive my Wedding DVD?
We will send you a confirmation email once we have received your photos and should be able to process your order in 10-15 business days.
We use standard jewel cases. All DVDs are identified with personalized labels.
DigitalMedia-Productions currently uses high-quality media DVD+R media and we will replace your DVD if it is faulty.
How long will you keep a copy of my DVD?
We will keep the master of your DVD on file for 6 months, for purposes of reordering unless you specify that we don't.
